The first edition of IQ, the new design exhibition for Qatar, will be held from February 2 to 4, at Qatar National Convention Centre.

IQ is expected to attract 6,000 visitors over the three days and feature over 250 brands under one roof. With less than three months to go until the exhibition opens its doors, over 80% of the exhibition space has already been booked, according to a statement.

“We have been getting an incredible response from local, regional and international brands since we started selling exhibition space early in 2014,” said Ashley Roberts, event director, IQ exhibition. “Being the first edition of a new show, we have received a very positive response and demand for space. This proves that this market really wants and needs a show like IQ and that Doha is the perfect location for a show of this calibre.”

IQ is set to become the new flagship event in Qatar for residential, commercial and hospitality interiors, as well as public sector solutions, fit-out materials and fittings, the statement adds.

The residential section of IQ will offer visitors products and designs for all kinds of interiors, including lighting, outdoor furniture, floor and wall coverings, solutions for kitchens and bathrooms, furniture and other items. Katharine Pooley, Interface, Corian DuPont, Chabros, Elite Homes, Slate Lite, Gautier, Dream Glass, Etqaan Designs, Aldar Al Jameela, Poly Products, Octogone, KTS, Vingcard, Elsaf, RAFCO, Basic Elements and Fine Art Furniture are some of the leading brands that have already booked space in the residential section.

Industry professionals looking to source products and solutions for public sector, commercial and hospitality projects will find dedicated sections. Workstation and storage solutions, furniture for offices, boardrooms and conference room interiors, signage and graphics solutions, equipment and accessories for leisure, fitness, spas and banqueting are some of the products and services that IQ visitors can expect to find across the 10,000sqm of space covered by the exhibition.

Open to trade and the general public, IQ is designed around the needs of interior designers, architects and design industry professionals from both Qatar and the surrounding Gulf states. The exhibition will be open from 4-10pm with free access for professionals.

Alongside the exhibition, a number of features and events will take place over the three days, providing visitors with additional industry-related content.

IQ Education, sponsored by Interface, a series of free-to-attend conferences discussing the latest industry’s trends and topics, and the first Qatar Design Awards, with headline sponsor ASTAD Project Management, which will recognise and reward outstanding interior design and architecture projects located within Qatar, are among them.
