Alfardan Jewellery has announced the launch of a collection of new designs by renowned Paris-based jeweller Chaumet.

The Hortensia collection is inspired by the flower hydrangea, which Chaumet has chosen “from within the restrained architecture of a Japanese garden, trimmed in its lush, verdant embroidery”.

The jeweller finds inspiration in the “endless varieties” of the hydrangea. Round or tapered petals form a “delicate cluster or a perfect sphere, frolicking with colour and blooming in an astonishing geometric spectrum”. With the Hortensia collection, this is now echoed in the world of couture, the jeweller has said in a statement.

Further, the statement adds, it marks “jewellery-making excellence expressed with the same floral grammar”. From corolla to pistil, Chaumet explores all the flower’s intricacies, playing upon 10 petal variations.

Maroun Abou Hamad, senior area sales manager at Chaumet, said the designs contain a “tamed version of nature, stylised, open-worked and sculpted, capturing motion that is at once taut and supremely delicate. The hydrangea as seen by Chaumet aligns with the House’s naturalistic style to become a collection of sentimental jewels”.

Stating that the new collection is being offered at prices suitable for different customers, he stressed that Chaumet is keen to live up to the high expectations of its customers in Qatar and the GCC region.

Diane Hannouche, senior marketing executive at Chaumet, said Alfardan Jewellery has become a favourite destination for all lovers of fine and elite jewellery and watches. Further, Chaumet is keen to launch new collections of designs that appeal to those seeking Parisian elegance and charm.

Regarding the Hortensia collection, Hannouche said a celebration of three shades of gold, the hydrangea blossoms in 18 delicate designs. It is a collection of juxtapositions - solid and open-work petals, matte and polished gold. As a ring, the hydrangea becomes a floral wreath enlacing the finger, with randomly aligned petals making each ring a unique bouquet.

As a pendant, it resembles a round hydrangea cluster: a perfect sphere composed of flowers. Lastly, a special-occasion ring and pendant, in white or rose gold set with diamonds, become luminous lace in a geometry of solid and open-work flowers.

The Hortensia collection includes pendants, bracelets, rings, watches and earrings in 24 “exceptionally-crafted” pieces.

Chaumet is an acclaimed manufacturer of jewellery and premium limited-edition watches.
