The Qatar Tourism Aurthority will lead a tourism delegation to the annual ITB-Asia exhibition at Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore starting today.

The three-day B2B trade show and convention, now in its seventh year, will gather more than 850 Asia Pacific and other international exhibitors from all travel trade sectors together. Attendance is expected to exceed last year’s total of 9,100 visitors from 110 countries.

The QTA delegation, which includes seven leading Doha hotels and three destination management companies, will represent and promote Qatar as a unique and leading destination in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibition) and leisure tourism.

“Emphasis will be placed on the country’s exceptional location and accessibility, thanks to direct flights to over 140 cities around the world through the Qatar Airways network, including excellent services to all major South East Asian capitals,” the QTA said in a statement.

QTA sees the rapidly developing economies of Association of South East Asian Nations region as a major potential growth market for both business and leisure travel. 

Besides extensive point-to-point travel connectivity via Doha and its state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, QTA will be actively promoting longer stopovers for travellers en route from South East Asia to Europe.
