The traffic movement through the road linking the Airport Road with Mesaimeer and surrounding areas is likely to be affected by the beginning of next month as the ongoing work of the East Corridor is expected to enter a new phase shortly.

Ashghal has already put up billboards warning passengers about the chances of their traffic movement being affected at the deviation where the Mesaimeer road joins Airport road.

The work is expected to last no less than 18 months, according to the announcement.

The ongoing work on the Wakrah bypass taking place behind the Barwa Village and the further progressing of the work towards the Mesaimeer-Airport Road too are expected to slow down the traffic movement through the road which currently serves as a major link connecting Airport Road with the Industrial Area road.

The present road, though not in a good condition, is also serving a considerable number of commuters to and from the Industrial Area, Ain Khalid and their neighbourhoods to reach the Hamad International Airport (HIA) and also the localities on the eastern side of the city, including Umm Guwaliana, Matar Qadeem and areas in their neighbourhood.
