Minor fire at shopping mall

The City Center-Doha was evacuated yesterday after a minor fire broke out on the third floor of the prominent shopping complex around 9.45am. There were no injuries.

“A smoke alarm alerted staff and the Civil Defence arrived promptly. The fire was extinguished quickly. A fault in an electrical cable in Fun City (a children’s play area) appears to have caused the fire,” the management of City Center-Doha said.

“The third floor was closed as soon as the fire was detected and the people inside evacuated.  We expect the outlets on the third floor of City Center-Doha will reopen once a complete safety check is completed.”
