HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdulla bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani will inaugurate the 10th Milipol Qatar exhibition for internal state security systems at the Doha Exhibition Centre today.

Firms and institutions from 36 countries are taking part in the expo.

Milipol Qatar Organising Committee chairman Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Fahd bin al-Thani yesterday said the increasing participation of firms and institutions from all over the world showed the event’s growing  popularity.

“Since the event began in 1996 there has been an increase in the number of participants in each edition,” he told reporters.

Sheikh Nasser said there had been a 7% increase in the number of participants in this year’s exhibition compared to the previous edition in 2012. The number of participants has grown from 244 in the last edition to 261 this year.

There will be six international pavilions, including two from new entrant countries - Italy and the UK. The other major pavilions will be of Brazil, France, North America and Germany-Austria.
