HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, in his capacity as chairman of the Qatari-French School Voltaire, has signed a co-operation agreement with the University of Sorbonne, Paris 1 in France, reports QNA.

It comes after the agreement signed by the two sides on September 29, 2009, at the headquarters of the university, where the signatories agreed to strengthen Qatari-French ties in education and further education in legal and economic and management sciences, in addition to the fields of arts and humanities and social sciences.

The two parties have agreed to renew the agreement for five more years to establish solid mechanisms of co-operation, aiming to facilitate the enrolment of Qatari-French School Voltaire secondary students in the University of Sorbonne, Paris 1, from 2015-2016.

Accordingly, the university will be committed to admit 10 students in each specialty from among holders of the secondary school certificate from the Qatari-French School Voltaire.

The university has expressed its commitment to help prepare Qatari students wishing to join it, starting from their first academic year until graduation and up to the research and PhD level.

HE the Attorney General met Christian Masset, Permanent Secretary of the French Ministry of Foreign and International Development, where they exchanged views on how to promote Qatari-French co-operation in Francophone education.
