Emir issues decision on ambassadors

 

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued the following decisions:

1. Decision No 68 for 2014 moving Qatar’s ambassador to Eritrea Mohamed Issa Shaheen al-Manai to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

2. Decision No 70 of 2014 appointing Mohamed Rashid Mohamed al-Humaidi as ambassador to Eritrea.  

3. Decision No 71 for the year 2014 moving ambassador Sayar Abdurhman Jassim Almawda from his post as ambassador to Pakistan to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

4. Decision No 72 for 2014 appointing Saqr Mubarak Mohamed Saqr al-Mansouri as ambassador to Pakistan.

5. Decision No 73 for 2014 moving HE Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahd bin Jassim al-Thani from his post as ambassador to Azerbaijan to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

6. Decision No 74 appointing Jassim Mohamed Mubarak al-Darwish as ambassador to Tanzania.  

7. Decision No 75 moving Yusuf Ali Yusuf al-Khater from his post as ambassador to Australia to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

8. Decision No 76 for 2014 Qatar Al Ruwais Port. The decision was regarding the allocation of the areas needed for the port in accordance with its maps. The decision also stated that the objective of establishing the port is to facilitate the entry and exit of ships, cargo and passengers. It should also facilitate imports and exports as well as boost trade between countries in the region.

 

Pact on curbing nuclear terror ratified

 

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued Decree No 42 for 2014 ratifying an international agreement on the suppression of acts of nuclear terrorism. The agreement now has the power of the law in accordance with Article 68 of the constitution.

 

Emir ratifies Cabinet decisions

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday ratified the following Cabinet Decisions:

1. No 55 of 2014 on the application of provisions of Law No 24 of 2002 on retirement and pensions to Qatari employees of Sidra Medical and Research Centre.

2. No 54 of 2014 on setting the regulations and conditions of granting licenses to international consultancy services centres of specialised expertise, and their obligations.

The decisions are effective starting from its date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.

 

Emir endorses ratification of pacts

 

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued a ratification document endorsing a draft co-operation agreement on the establishment of young professionals programme (YPP) between the government Qatar and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco), which was signed in Paris on July 4.

The Emir issued a document endorsing the ratification of a Memorandum of Understanding on consultation between Qatar’s Foreign Ministry and Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, signed in Madrid on April 9.

The Emir issued another document endorsing the ratification of a co-operation agreement in education, higher education and scientific research between the governments of Qatar and Hungary, which was signed on May 13 in Doha.

 

Qatar-Spain bilateral ties reviewed

 

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a telephone call from King Felipe VI of Spain.

They reviewed bilateral relations and ways of developing and strengthening them.

 

Independence Day greetings sent

 

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to President of Guinea, Professor Alpha Conde, on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.

 

Minister meets US Congress member

 

HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met US Congress member Michael  Fitzpatrick.

The meeting dealt with the relations between two countries and means to promote them in addition to topics of mutual interest.

 

Education Minister visits schools

 

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC), Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi, praised the efforts of school administrations and educational authority to ensure a regular schedule in line with the academic plan.

The Minister was visiting a number of independent schools to check on students’ attendance on the last day of school before Eid holidays. He congratulated students on their attendance and seriousness, wishing them a happy Eid break.

Dr al-Hammadi urged parents to ensure that their children return to schools on Oct 12.

 

Al-Kuwari leaves for France

 

HE the Minister of Culture Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari yesterday headed to Paris to attend the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which is witnessing Qatari cultural participation beside the sporting event.

Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which is one of the biggest horse races in Europe, will start on Sunday.
