Ooredoo yesterday launched two data promotions to mark Eid al-Adha, enabling people to stay online and connected during the holiday.

With this, Ooredoo Passport customers travelling within the GCC will receive double the allocated data for free.

Besides, customers who buy an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and a Shahry Smart 250 pack will get unlimited mobile data free for one year.

With the newly launched offer, Shahry and Hala customers who subscribe to or renew the Ooredoo Passport service until October 31 will get an additional 1GB of data that can be consumed while roaming anywhere in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait.

The additional data aim to ensure connectivity during overseas travels and allow Ooredoo customers to contact loved ones this Eid. For QR100, customers receive 100 roaming minutes for their calls and 2GB of roaming mobile data valid for one week. Allowance is also available for use on Ooredoo’s 4G roaming valid networks.

Ooredoo Passport call minutes and data are valid for the duration of one week and customers are sent a notification 48 hours prior to expiry of the service with an option to renew it by pre-ordering for the week ahead.

If customers use up all their call minutes and data before their Ooredoo Passport expires, they will automatically receive a discounted price of QR1 per minute and QR1 per MB used on partner networks.

To activate Ooredoo Passport, Shahry customers can SMS ‘OP’ to 114 and Hala customers can SMS ‘OP’ to 121.

With the iPhone 6 data offer, customers who buy the new device with a Shahry Smart 250 Pack or above will get one year’s unlimited data added to their monthly allowance for free.

The devices are 4G-enabled, which means they’ll work seamlessly with Ooredoo’s 4G network.

The unlimited data will automatically be updated to a Shahry subscriber’s monthly allowance and remain valid for one year. Customers need to continue their Shahry 250 or above subscription continuously for 12 months to take advantage of the ongoing free data.

Customers who downgrade their Shahry Smart pack below 250, or unsubscribe to Shahry, will stop receiving free unlimited 4G data from the end date of their subscription.

Existing Shahry customers can also redeem this offer by visiting an Ooredoo shop to buy the new iPhone and upgrade their pack to activate unlimited data.
