HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has praised the evolving relations between Qatar and the United States, especially in trade and economic co-operation.
The Minister’s remarks came during a visit yesterday to the headquarters of the NASDAQ Stock Market in New York, where he met NASDAQ chief executive officer and a number of senior US officials.
In a speech during the visit Minister said that the relations between the US and Qatar have been characterised by mutual understanding and a constructive spirit of co-operation.
He added that Qatar, with its open economy, welcomes all investors wishing to enter the Qatari market, commending its development policy derived from the Qatar Vision 2030, which prioritises the private sector in sustainable development plans.
The Minister said that the private sector, coupled with the public sector, is taking the Qatari economy towards further growth and prosperity through co-operation and mutual benefits with all trading partners.
The NASDAQ chief executive officer, in a speech on the occasion, lauded the role of Qatar on regional and international levels, noting that Qatar harnessed its various resources to provide its citizens with a decent living and well-being, and to build good relations with its trading partners.
