Ooredoo offers 4G roaming service

Ooredoo has become the first operator in Qatar and the first company in the global Ooredoo Group to offer 4G roaming services, enabling customers to enjoy “superfast” Internet speeds when they travel. Ooredoo Qatar customers will now be able to access 4G LTE networks on their 4G-enabled devices in specific countries, with no subscription required. 4G roaming from Ooredoo will be available at standard roaming rates. Ooredoo’s first 4G roaming partner is Mobily in Saudi Arabia – one of the most-visited destinations in the region – and plans are in place to add new partners in the coming weeks.

New taxi firm to start operation

Qatar’s third Karwa taxi franchisee, Profit Trading Company, will launch the first batch of  50 “Cars taxis” tomorrow. The taxis will feature yellow colour on top. In a statement to a local Arabic daily,  Profit Trading executive director Abdullah Sultan al-Sabbag said  the company’s taxis would carry Karwa logo like the other two franchisees already operating. He said the company would try to launch at least 50 cars every week so that it could reach the sanctioned capacity of 500 cars in four to five months. The other two franchisees, Al Million  and Al Ijaara together, operate around 1,000 taxis.

Inspection campaign

Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce has conducted an inspection campaign covering about 26 malls around the country and issued some six violations to different outlets for not abiding by the pricing tags they had announced earlier.
