Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah has held a number of bilateral meetings as part of his participation in  the 69th session of the General Assembly of the UN in New York.

He met separately at the seat of the Qatar’s Permanent Mission with Argentina’s Foreign Minister Hector Marcos Timermana, Paraguay Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga Caballero and Greek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Evangelos Venizelos.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them as well as a number of regional issues.

HE the Foreign Minister also met Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Libya Bernardino Leon. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Libya.

Meanwhile, HE the Foreign Minister chaired Qatar’s delegation to a meeting on Libya.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya and ways to resolve the crisis there. It also called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire. Its participants said that the political dialogue in Libya is the solution to this crisis.

Besides Qatar, the meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Algeria and the UAE, as well as the US, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the European Union and the UN.
