Greetings to Mali
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to President of Mali Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on his country’s independence day.
Minister meets French envoy
HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari met in Doha yesterday with French Ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier. During the meeting they exchanged views on matters of mutual concern.
Invitation to Bangladesh meeting
HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari received an invitation from his Bangladeshi counterpart to attend a biennial meeting due to open on December 1. The message was delivered by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar, Syed Masood Mahmood Khandkar, during a meeting with Dr al-Kuwari.
Saarc chief meets Qatar envoy
Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) Arjun Bahadur Thapa met in Kathmandu yesterday with Qatar’s Ambassador to Nepal, Ahmed Jassim al-Hamar. The Saarc chief gave the ambassador a brief explanation on Saarc objectives and aspirations of its member states and their peoples for more success and progress. Thapa noted that the upcoming Saarc Summit, due to be held in Kathmandu in November, will be a new addition to the work of the association.
Kyrgyzstan meeting
Kyrgyzstan Parliament Speaker Asylbek Jeenbekov met in Bishkek yesterday with Qatari Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Mohamed Arar Omeer Alramazani al-Nuaimi. They discussed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them.
