Public Prosecution gets ISO stamp

The Public Prosecution has been awarded the ISO certification in financial and administrative affairs by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

Departments of Financial and Administrative Affairs, Information Systems and Criminal Affairs got ISO 9001:2008 from TUV in recognition of its application of the highest international quality standards in the above mentioned areas.

Officials of the ISO-obtaining departments told Qatar News Agency that their departments’ obtaining of this international certification was not a target in itself, but rather came as a natural result for their adoption of the maximum levels of distinction, quality and specifications in the work fields of those departments.

They noted that the Public Prosecution is applying modern.

 

QNHG to hold talk on mangroves

The Qatar Natural History Group (QNHG) will hold its monthly meeting at Doha English Speaking School at 7pm on October 1.

Simon Wilson, technical director of Five Oceans Environmental Services, Oman, will discuss “the value and ecological function of mangroves in Qatar” at the meeting.

This is an introduction to the biology, ecology and value of mangroves in the tropics and comparing this with the mangroves in the Gulf, specifically Qatar, where mangroves are at the limit of their global distribution.

Wilson will also talk about the work of Five Oceans on the mangrove restoration project for the new port project in Qatar. New members are welcome to join QNHG.

 

Korean trade meetings

A delegation comprising officials from nine South Korean companies convenes in Doha today to spur bilateral trade with Qatar.

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is hosting the meetings, the commercial section of the Korea embassy said.

The nine companies from Chung-buk region of South Korea will meet with potential agents and distributors in Qatar to discuss future business plans.

Commercial section’s managing director Lee said: “KOTRA has assisted in increasing the market volume of trade between Korea and Qatar over the past three years.” The Chung-buk delegation is Korea’s third trade team this year.
