HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani accompanied by his high-level delegation meeting Germany’s businessmen and policymakers in Berlin.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin with a number of businessmen, policymakers and public personalities from Germany.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual interest. Afterwards, HH the Emir attended a dinner banquet and gave a speech where HH the Emir expressed his happiness at meeting the elite of the German society. He stressed the importance of having strong relations with Germany, and acknowledged that relations in economic and investment fields grew significantly in recent years.

HH the Emir highlighted his desire to enhance relations in terms of political deliberations, in addition to discussing other issues of interest to Qatar such as topics in education, health and culture, in addition to enhancing relations in the field of renewable energy.

He said that Qatar was working on achieving its 2030 Qatar National Vision, which aims to diversify the Qatari economy in addition to establishing infrastructure that will be necessary for holding World Cup 2022.

The Emir stressed that Qatar will remain a country that promotes peace and stability.

He added that Qatar allocates a part of its budget for development projects that benefit 110 countries around the world. He said that his administration supported the right of Arab people to live in freedom and with dignity, highlighting the country’s position from Israel’s aggression against Gaza. The Emir also noted that Qatar was clear in its position when political regimes committed massacres, such as what happened in Syria.

He highlighted the state’s effort in combating terrorism, describing it as an enemy to the people, expressing his belief that the young Arab generation truly needed change and expressed that need in a civilised manner.

HH the Emir stressed that Qatar provides a decent living in a secure society that is looking for growth and modernity. He added that the future of the Arab World lies in human development and growth.
