Qatar’s Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud yesterday took part in an international business conference in Tunis yesterday. Delegations representing more than 30 countries and 20 financial and economic institutions attended the conference called, “ Invest in Tunisia: invest in emerging democracy”. Addressing the conference, al-Mahmoud stressed Qatar’s commitment, under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, to support and stand with Tunisia, adding that “the proper democratic approach adopted by Tunisia steadily and confidently requires support regionally and internationally….” He noted that Qatar was seeking to provide all it could in order to support Tunisia by granting loans and deposits focusing on a number of investments in various fields.
