Doha Bank, through the Qatar Central Bank, has donated QR2mn in support of humanitarian efforts and solidarity with Palestinians affected by the current political turmoil in Gaza.
“In line with its philanthropic traditions, Doha Bank is committed to helping people in their critical time of need,” said Doha Bank Legal Department’s senior legal researcher Faisal Yousef Abualfain, who presented the donation cheque to Qatar Red Crescent.
Abualfain added: “Doha Bank believes and supports the humanitarian role played by Qatar, government organisations, and concerned people involved in charity works; and we extend the bank’s support through charity organisations or generous donors, who feel the tribulation of other people.”
He said Doha Bank has a “long history of support” to Qatar’s reputed charity groups that are active in disaster relief efforts around the world.
“Doha Bank has also donated QR100,000 to Qatar Red Crescent to support their efforts in securing the basic needs and medical services to treat the injured men, women, and children in Gaza,” Abualfain said.
He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to QRC “for their continued efforts to support the distressed families of the Palestinian people.”
Similarly, Abualfain also extended special thanks to the staff and volunteers “who devoted a large part of their time and effort to help people facing difficult conditions for different reasons.”
QRC head of Resources Mobilisation & Investment Department Ahmed Ali al-Khulaifi expressed his thanks and appreciation to Doha Bank for the “permanent support” it extended.
