Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco) yesterday launched the all-new 2015 Honda Accord sedan at a media event held at the main showroom in Doha.

The 2015 Accord, in line with Honda’s philosophy of “man maximum machine minimum”, has undergone significant enhancements from its 2013/14 predecessor.

A luxurious modern interior combined with a sophisticated, linear and sporty exterior is the hallmark of the new Accord. There is a six-grade lineup with a direct-injection 2.4litre i-VTEC engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and the 3.5litre i-VTEC engine with a six-speed Automatic Transmission for the L4 and the V6 grades, respectively.

The 2015 Accord has deeply sculpted sharp character lines in the exterior. All grades are equipped with daytime running lights and LED brake lights. LED headlights are an added attraction for the V6 Sports grade.

Among the key improvements, the rear is equipped with bumper integrated chrome twin silencer. Major exterior features include Honda LaneWatch  in the right-side door mirror on all V6 grades, flushed rear parking sensors on EX grades and above, alloy wheels as standard.

The refined cockpit of the sedan focuses on an advanced and intuitive driving interface with the full 8-inch colour Intelligent Multi-Information Display that offers simple access to a wide range of important functions.

New to the 2015 Accord is the electric parking brake. The cabin offers outstanding leg room, front and rear shoulder room, front and rear ACs, futuristic LED map and rear reading lights with a rear power sunshade.

A new addition to 2015 Accord is advanced Earth Dreams Technology powertrains. In combination with CVT, the Direct-Injection 2.4litre i-VTEC engine offers a torque of 25.0 kg-m @ 3,900rpm and a horsepower of 185 @ 6,400rpm, which is 8% higher versus the 2013/14 four-cylinder sedan.

The 3.5litre i-VTEC is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission generating 274hp @ 6,200rpm and a torque of 34.5 kg-m @ 4,900rpm. Updated suspension tuning further enhances handling and ride comfort.

The 2015 Accord Sedan’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering II body is designed to enhance occupant protection while mitigating damage to other vehicles. The Accord boasts of Honda active-safety features such as the Vehicle Stability Assist, Anti-Lock Brake Systems, Electronic Brake Distributor and Hill Start Assist.

The passive-safety features include Front Dual SRS airbag system, front side airbag
system, side curtain airbags and 3-point ELR seatbelts for five passengers.

The 2015 Accord Sedan, which comes in nine colours, has a three-year or 100,000km warranty as standard from Honda Motor Company.
