Work on widening a bridge on February 22nd Street, in the direction of the Al Tadamon signal, started last Saturday and has led to traffic congestion in the area, local Arabic daily Al Sharq has reported.
A number of citizens have questioned the timing of the work. A large number of people are expected to return from their holidays now and execution of such projects can result in traffic congestion, they have argued.
During a tour of the site, the daily observed the difficulties faced by people while entering the bridge due to a sudden traffic diversion.
