Commercial Bank has  appointed Colin Macdonald as executive general manager, Business Enablement.  

Colin will play a leading role in driving business performance and strategic initiatives, supporting and advising the CEO and the Commercial Bank leadership team, a statement from the bank said.

Hussain Alfardan, vice-chairman and managing director of Commercial Bank said; “Colin has wide banking experience built over 26 years, eight of which has been spent in the Middle East. Colin will further enhance the capabilities of our already strong management team and I am confident we will continue to build on our leading position within Qatar and the region”.

Abdulla al-Raisi, chief executive officer, Commercial Bank, commented: “We are delighted to have Colin on board who, with his depth of banking experience, will drive a number of  important initiatives for Commercial Bank and further strengthen the leadership team.”

Colin Macdonald is a leading banking executive with over 26 years of banking experience including extensive experience in the Middle East.

Prior to joining Commercial Bank, he was Group CEO of Shuaa Capital, the leading regional investment bank, where he played an integral part in the reorganisation and strategy implementation that returned the group to profitability.
