Thirty-four-year-old Edward Mangulabnan from Qatar has won the final of Red Bull Game On.

Over two weeks of qualifications and the final, Red Bull was searching for the “fastest racer” of Qatar. The qualifications consisted of consecutive PlayStation F1 2013 games in the Red Bull racing simulator and on the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

With a time of 1.42.837, Mangulabnan was crowned as the “fastest racer ever” on the Yas Marina circuit. Jad Abou Daher came second with a time of 1.43.667.

As many as 159 racers wanted to win a ticket to the 2014 Formula 1 Etihad Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Mangulabnan emerging on top. He won the Red Bull Game On title after beating his opponents in the two final racing rounds at the Gaming Lounge in Doha. The final, held on July 26, was witnessed by 60 racing fans.

The participants, who were all above 16 years, gathered at the Gaming Lounge to register and compete daily from July 11 to 23 and then at Virgin Megastore on July 24-25. The best 32 racers made it to the final at the Gaming Lounge where they had two rounds to clock the fastest lap time.

“It was a tough competition and the cars were unpredictable. I couldn’t but make mistakes at some points; however, luck was on my side and I was able to be the fastest. I guess I was lucky,” said Mangulabnan.

Abou Daher said he had a nice experience.
