A delegation from Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has paid a visit to Dhreima (Qatar Orphan Foundation), voicing appreciation for its humanitarian efforts in supporting orphans in Qatar and satisfying the needs of disadvantaged children.
The visit took place during the holy month of Ramadan and in fulfilment of its corporate social responsibility programme, Qatar Rail has said in a statement.
The delegation led by Qatar Rail deputy CEO Hamad al-Bishri and executive director (Administration) Meshal Abdulla al-Obaidan was received by the foundation’s director, Khaled Kamal.
Kamal accompanied the delegation on an inspection tour across the different departments of the foundation, introducing it to the social services and activities organised by Dhreima throughout the year.
Qatar Rail’s delegation also got to know about the various events in which the children take part, both within and outside the foundation, in what secures a natural ambiance and normal life for the kids and gives them a chance to build a better future.
Speaking during the visit, al-Bishri said: “On behalf of Qatar Railways Company, we express gratefulness to the efforts of Dhreima officials and their continuous quest to help children experience a normal life.
“As we strongly believe in the principle of social solidarity and the importance of the virtue of sharing in this holy month, Qatar Rail confirms permanent readiness to extend a helping hand to Dhreima and work with the foundation for serving the future of our children.”
The Qatar Rail delegation also toured the foundation’s library, where it got introduced to the inter-library system for children and methods of supervising them while browsing online with the help of teachers and specialists, in addition to a tour of the Cultural Centre where works of art for children of all ages are displayed.
The visit comes within the framework of Qatar Rail’s social efforts and initiatives during Ramadan, as the company is co-operating with the Zakat Fund and Qatar Charity to direct aid donated by its employees to those in need.
