Qatar’s one and only water theme park will be launching its Eid al-Fitr festivities with an exciting action-packed pirate-themed event for five days starting on the first day of Eid from 3pm to 9.30pm.

In a statement, Aqua Park-Qatar general manager Mohamed Firdaus Raj said they have prepared a variety of amusements and entertaining activities for children such as water ball racing: an activity where they can climb into a large inflatable plastic sphere that they can then steer across the water between bars and cones, making their way to the finish line.

Children can also test their throwing skills in a “Pirates Battle” activity, where they will have to get the balls inside the canon holes of the pirate ship to win.

Besides the wet sponge throwing and face painting, Raj said kids will surely enjoy the large bouncy castle and the human-sized cartoon character that will be mingling with the crowd.

Some 160,000 people visited the park in 2013.

Aqua Park has devoted certain days and events to various age groups and interests. It has reserved Fridays as family days and Tuesdays as female-only days. However, these exceptions do not apply during Eid.
