Commercial Bank has launched the “Easy Pay” service, a feature that allows customers to convert their credit card transactions of QR1,000 or more into Easy Pay instalments, payable in three, six, or twelve month instalment plans at a special introductory rate of 0%.

Dean Proctor, Commercial Bank EGM, Retail & Consumer Banking said: “Easy Pay is a unique feature on our credit cards that not only helps our customers in planning their monthly expenses better but it also saves them money by paying back purchases at 0% interest.”

Proctor added that Commercial Bank believes that Easy Pay enhances the appeal of the bank’s credit cards. The feature, which is a first in Qatar, is available through the company’s state-of-the-art Internet banking platform.

According to Proctor, Easy Pay follows a number of market firsts for Commercial Bank credit cards, including the launch of FlyMiles – the first credit card loyalty programme that allows customers to redeem reward points to any destination with any airline and at any time.

In September 2013, Commercial Bank also launched Qatar’s first credit and debit co-branded football card with Manchester United, offering football fans and followers the chance to get closer to the world’s most supported football team.

Recently, Commercial Bank also launched the first instant issuance card kiosk in its D-Ring Road Branch, allowing customers to receive an activated and personalised debit or credit card instantly.

Commercial Bank credit card holders, who have recently made transactions over QR1,000 and wish to use the Easy Pay service can log on to their account at Commercial Bank’s Internet banking platform or by sending the SMS “BNPL” to 92614 through their registered mobile.

A bank representative will call back the customer to convert their transactions to Easy Pay. There is no need for any written applications or documentation to be completed.

Easy Pay can be requested for any type of retail purchase transactions such as electronics, appliances, household goods, airline tickets, groceries, or even to pay utility bills.
