The Qatar 2015 24th Men’s Handball World Championship Organising Committee has visited children at Rumailah Hospital, with gifts and goodies handed out by Fahed, the official mascot of the games.
Fahed spent time talking to the children and taking them through the exciting aspects of the game of handball, while encouraging them to get fit and well again.
As part of his mission, Fahed is creating awareness of the sport and raising the level of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming championship across the community of Qatar.
For the young patients, the visit was fun and a welcome relief, and they were delighted to see people taking time to come and entertain them – and particularly happy to see Fahed, the symbol of Qatar’s sporting and lively spirit.
The visit to Rumailah Hospital is one of the many activities being carried out during the holy month of Ramadan, designed to reach out and give back to the community. Prior to this visit, Fahed has also been giving Iftar boxes to workers across the city every day.
One of the key values represented by Fahed is the importance of a healthy mind and body and, through his signature activities during Ramadan, Fahed is inviting the community to adopt important values related to a healthy lifestyle and exercise.
Qatar 2015 is also sponsoring a Ramadan tent at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, encouraging people to celebrate the traditions and values of the holy month.
