HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following instruments of ratification:
1. An instrument ratification approving a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of Qatar and Cyprus on co-operation in sea water desalination and the treatment of wastewater for re-use signed in Doha on 27/01/2014.
2. An instrument of ratification approving a draft MoU for co-operation in health sector between the governments of Qatar and the Council of Ministers of Albania signed in Doha on 13/04/2014.
3. An instrument of ratification approving a draft agreement between the governments of Qatar and the Council of Ministers of Albania on the regulation of employing the Albanian workers in Qatar signed in Doha on 13/04/2014.
4. An instrument of ratification approving the ratification of an agreement on co-operation in the cultural field between the governments of Qatar and Peru signed in Doha on 20/02/2014.
Emir ratifies decrees
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani ratified the following decrees:
1. Decree No 30 of 2014 to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador signed in Quito on 16/02/2013 annexed to this decree and shall have the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution.
2. Decree No 31 of 2014 ratifying the agreement on the Encouragement and Reciprocal Protection of Investment between the governments of Qatar and Belgium–Luxembourg Economic Union signed in Doha on 06/11/2007
The two decrees shall be implemented from the date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.
Cabinet decision ratified
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has ratified Cabinet Decision No 32 of 2014, exempting Mesaieed Power Company Ltd. from income tax.
The decision stipulates that Mesaieed Power Company Ltd. is exempted from tax income for another year starting January 1, 2013.
The decision is effective starting from its date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.
Phone call from Djibouti president
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a telephone call from President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh. Bilateral relations were discussed.
Minister meets US ambassador
HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met the outgoing US Ambassador to Qatar Susan Laila Ziadeh.
The meeting reviewed issues of mutual concern.
Qatar-Uganda ties reviewed
HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah has met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda Sam Kutesa during a one-day visit to Kampala.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them and exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.
Real estate transactions
Transactions between June 29 and July 3 for the real estate sales contracts registered at the Ministry of justice are worth QR914,705,768, the real estate registration department at the Ministry said in its weekly report.
