Defence Minister leaves for Belarus
HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major-General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah left Doha yesterday for Belarus on an official visit. He was seen off by HE the Chief of Staff Air Vice-Marshall Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim.
Awqaf Ministry conducting awareness drive at hospitals

The “Healing and Mercy” campaign of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, conducted in co-operation with Hamad Medical Corporation during the holy month of Ramadan, has been successfully raising people’s awareness on related issues. |
The campaign is being conducted in five hospitals - Hamad Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, Al Khor Hospital, Cuban Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
Mohamed al-Mahmoud, director of the Call and Guidance Department, appreciated HMC’s co-operation with the ministry in this respect. He stressed that the month of Ramadan is an opportunity to remind people of the constructive values of religion and promote good practices.
The campaign targets all persons at such hospitals, including patients, visitors and administrative and medical staff. It also highlights the importance of giving patients humane treatment and showing them mercy and compassion.
Al Wakrah Mall to open in Dec
The Ezdan Al Wakrah Mall will open in December this year, local daily Al Arab has reported, quoting Ali bin Mohamed al-Obaidli, Group CEO, Ezdan Holding.
Al-Obaidli told the daily that the mall will feature a number of global brands and be the first of its kind in Al Wakrah, which has been witnessing rapid growth in its population.
He added that the mall will cover an area of 75,600sq m.
