Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) held its annual Ramadan gathering for employees – otherwise known as the “Ghabaka” – recently.

In attendance were a large number of employees, including QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal and general managers, as well as several guests of honour such as Sheikh Suleiman al-Jbeilan and Dr Khalid al-Khanji, vice-president of Student Affairs at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.

Speaking at the event, Gamal indicated that the Ramadan gathering had become an annual tradition that testified to the ideals of communication and collaboration among all QIB employees.

He added that QIB’s top priority was to develop and improve its IT systems to stay abreast of future growth and needs, in reference to the launching of the strategic transformation programme (iCan), which QIB undertook late last year and the first step of which is expected to be completed by late 2015.

He also highlighted the significance of continued investments in branch development with the goal of providing an improved and advanced banking environment for customers as well as an appropriate work environment for employees.

Dr al-Khanji and Sheikh Suleiman also spoke.
