Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) has hosted its first-ever Qapco ‘open day’, dedicated to recruitment and scholarships. |
The event was held under the slogan “We want you with us”.
The ‘open day’ aimed to attract talented youth and experienced professionals, either through its scholarship programmes or as direct hires.
Representatives from Qatar University and Texas A&M at Qatar were also present at the event.
More than 460 Qataris complying with the recruitment criteria visited the Qapco ‘open day’.
The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs HE Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi graced the event and monitored the success of the recruitment and scholarship drive.
Dr Mohamed Youssef al-Mulla, vice-chairman and chief executive officer, Qapco, said: “We are delighted to witness that the petrochemical sector is more attractive than ever before for our Qatari youth. Impressive attendance at Qapco ‘open day’ illustrates that inspiring scholarships and stimulating careers motivate our talented younger generation. Looking at the calibre and determination of the candidates who visited us today, I believe the future of our industry is promising.”
