Officials from the Department of Consumer Protection made a field visit to the livestock section in the Central Market to ensure that there was a good supply of meat ahead of the start of Ramadan.

Department director Sheikh Jassim bin Jabr al-Thani was accompanied by Widam Food Company managing director Abdul Rahman al-Kaabi.

They visited the customer service tent. The officials also wanted to make sure that all workers in the market were registered and sponsored by the livestock owners and the prices of food stuff were as stipulated.

Sheikh Jassim al-Thani commended the good arrangements found at the market compared to previous years and promised that they would continue with their inspections and supervision of the activities of the market to ensure that the rights of consumers are protected.

He also reiterated that there were enough sheep in the market to take the residents and citizens through the month of Ramadan.
