Doha Bank and Q-Tickets.com have recorded 100,000 ticket sales in six months from more than 40,000 registered cinema goers, Doha Bank Group chief executive officer Dr R Seetharaman said.

Q-Tickets.com has partnered with Doha Bank to offer, for the first time in Qatar, the opportunity to purchase movie tickets online for Villaggio and City Center cinemas as well as tickets to the latest events in Qatar.

“Doha Bank is always committed to building partnerships with innovative companies seeking to change the marketplace and deliver greater value to end users,” Seetharaman said.

He added that new service additions allow customers to purchase tickets using their Doha Bank Internet banking accounts if they do not have credit cards.

Q-Tickets.com founder Dr Tejinder Singh said another major addition to the service is the ability to book tickets via the new mobile website, which consumes less GSM Internet bandwidth.

“We are extremely happy with the way the payment gateway has been performing and this experience helps us tailor even more payment solutions for our customers, who are always seeking a competitive, always-on service solution to make their lives easier,” Seetharaman added.

Q-Tickets.com helps patrons avoid standing in queues for movie and event tickets. Powered by Doha Bank’s proven e-Commerce capabilities, Q-Tickets.com gives Qatar’s cinema and “event-loving public” the convenience and added security of a secure online transaction.

After logging in, customers can choose their preferred movie, screen and show time, as well as their desired seats off a visual layout. Ticket purchases can be completed via credit cards or through a Doha Bank Internet banking account. After booking a ticket, the customer receives a reservation code via SMS or e-mail.

Q-Tickets.com co-founder and chief executive officer Satya Kalyan Yerramsetti said the company was “overwhelmed by the tremendous response and brand faith shown by patrons, who helped us reach the 100,000 mark in record time.”

He added that with more than 40,000 registered users, “our targeted numbers have been surpassed considerably. This sets the platform for the further development of the Q-Tickets.com platform to provide even more ticketing services in the future.”

Doha Bank head of Retail Banking Suresh Bajpai said the “extraordinary” six-month record proves that the service “fills a void in the market.”

Bajpai added that Doha Bank has been working with the portal during the past few months “to deliver even greater value to customers.”
