The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is organising an Open Day for granting scholarships to Qatari nationals.

It started yesterday at InterContinental Hotel and will conclude today.

The event is held to attract secondary graduates to avail themselves of Kahramaa scholarship opportunities in different fields.

Nasser al-Mohannadi, director of Corporate Services said: “We at Kahramaa seek to build a firm base of promising talent. All secondary graduates looking for established academic and career plan are invited to join our corporation and seize the training opportunities that we provide.”

Aisha al-Motawa, head of Qatarisation, Training and Development,  said: “Since its launch in 2007, the scholarship programme has attracted lots of promising children.”

Al-Motawa said Kahramaa provides training for scholars through four-six months qualification programme, which includes a series of courses to acquaint them with all professional and technical knowledge.

The scholarship unit at Kahramaa keeps in contact with the student and his/her university through electronic channels and social media platforms.

Kahramaa president Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari said the corporation pays utmost interest to develop and encourage Qatari cadres and talents.

This event comes as part of Kahramaa’s investment in the human capital. It aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar National Development Strategy 2011 – 2016.
