Doha Bank has announced the selection of names for the first draw of its Al Dana Savings Programme where one lucky winner took home a cash prize worth QR1mn.

The bank’s latest millionaire, Jassem Yousef al-Suwaidi, said: “I cannot thank Doha Bank enough for going above and beyond what is required to ensure customer satisfaction.”

Al-Suwaidi noted that after 24 years of banking with Doha Bank, his experience was highlighted by “dedicated service, devotion and support” from the bank.

“Doha Bank has fulfilled its promise of rewarding its customers through Al Dana, which is a symbol of credibility and reliability. I would like to thank my personal relationship officer and the Al Riyada Team for their commitment in always providing priority service. I will continue investing more in Al Dana and would urge all my friends and family to do the same,” al-Suwaidi said.

Doha Bank Group CEO Dr R Seetharaman said customer satisfaction is the bank’s “biggest priority”. He congratulated al-Suwaidi for winning the raffle and added that the bank hopes to welcome “a few more million riyal winners” of the Al Dana family before the end of the year.

During a brief ceremony, Doha Bank also announced the winners of the QR500,000 and QR100,000 cash prizes as well as the 10 winners of QR10,000 and five “Young Savers”, who took home brand new iPad 4 devices.

Further, the bank said the dedicated “KWD 5,000” draw for an international branch customer was won by a client from Doha Bank’s Kuwait branch.

Dr Seetharaman said, “The 2014 prize campaign is focusing on a core customer strategy of ‘Al Dana for Everyone’, which means there is something for everyone and for all ages. During the course of the year, more winners will be added to the Al Dana family with plenty of opportunities for past winners to add to their tally in the various monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly draws.”

Doha Bank head of Retail Banking Suresh Bajpai added that the campaign runs parallel in both Qatar and Kuwait where clients expressed “positive” customer feedback.

Bajpai said Al Dana 2014 benchmarks the highest customer satisfaction level within its savings programmes category due to the diversity of the prize pool that ensures people with varied savings capacity are able to win from a range of prizes, which gives each customer multiple chances of winning every month and every quarter.

The main QR1mn quarterly draws are open to all eligible customers maintaining a minimum balance of QR1,000 with special draws dedicated for those maintaining higher balances.

Quarterly draws include all customers maintaining an account balance of only QR1,000 during the months of the eligible quarter.

Customers holding Al Dana savings balances of QR1,000 and above are automatically entered into monthly draws that will award QR10,000 each to 10 lucky winners each month.

Those maintaining balances of at least QR50,000 will be eligible for special additional draws that will reward one lucky customer each month with a QR100,000 cash prize.

A notable new draw in this year’s prize structure is the bi-monthly QR500,000 prize draw, which automatically registers customers maintaining a balance of QR350,000 during the eligibility period.
