To mark the completion of three years of the National Health Strategy 2011-2016 (NHS), the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) will host an event for healthcare specialists on June 2.
The annual event aims to promote a greater understanding of the NHS and highlight the positive and wide-ranging transformation the strategy is bringing to health in Qatar.
The NHS comprises 39 projects, two of which have been accomplished and great progress has been made in the remaining 37, with 44% of outputs completed.
The NHS was created to help deliver the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and ensure that all people in Qatar have access to one of the best healthcare systems in the world.
The NHS is a partnership of the SCH, Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation and involves the collaboration of more than 50 organisations.
HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani will speak on the key achievements of the NHS so far and participate in a panel discussion
with healthcare leaders.
The theme for this year’s event, “Enhancing the Patient Journey,” reflects the importance of patient-centred healthcare in the NHS and the commitment of NHS partners to improving the patient experience.
The event will also include a specially commissioned video showing four different patients presenting their real-life experience of the healthcare sector in Qatar. The video aims to raise awareness of how healthcare professionals can better ready themselves to address patients’ needs.
