HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Developmentmet (QF), met Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia yesterday.

During the meeting, they discussed topics of mutual concern, particularly those related to health and education.

President Sirleaf visited Qatar Foundation visitors’ centre where she was received by Saad al-Muhannadi, chairman of Qatar Foundation, and  Jassim Telefat, the group executive director of Qatar Foundation Capital Projects and Facilities Management.

The Liberian President was given a detailed presentation about Qatar Foundation, its vision and objectives along with an explanation about the projects and social and scientific research programmes undertaken by QF.

The Liberian president was also briefed on the current and future projects of Qatar Foundation such as universities, institutes, education and research centres. 

Expressing her desire to further develop Liberia’s education system, President Sirleaf said: “I hope that our students and teachers one day have an opportunity to come here and take part in the wonderful educational opportunities available in Qatar. I also look forward to enhancing the Liberian educational system by incorporating some of what we have seen at Qatar Foundation”.
