LuLu outlets are all set to host a Food Festival from today until May 7. |
The festival will be officially inaugurated by Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu Hypermarket Group, at 11am today at LuLu Hypermarket (Al Gharafa) with a cake-cutting ceremony.
This is for the 14th consecutive year that LuLu Hypermarket is conducting the Food Festival. Some of the activities planned for the festival are aimed at educating customers about different food habits and giving them insights into various international cooking styles and ingredients of different cuisines.
Major attractions include the Rice ‘N’ Spice Festival, Cake Day, Mediterranean Food Festival, Healthy Salad Day, Seafood Festival, South African Fest, promotion of all meat categories and Asean Food Festival.
Fun-filled competitions will be held throughout the festival period. These include juice drinking, banana eating, flavoured milk drinking, laban drinking, ice-cream eating, biryani eating, noodles and chilli eating, sandwich and burger eating, etc.
Other promotions, such as a cake-icing competition, fruit-carving competition, quiz, painting and drawing competition for kids, Quick Shopper and Lucky Customer (from 7pm to 9pm), have also been organised.
Customers will get the opportunity to win prizes by participating in the above promotions. Besides, live demonstrations of different types of cake-making have also been planned.
Special counters and kiosks promoting offers on major food items, free sampling and tasting and raffle draws by LuLu and major suppliers have also been set up.
