HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi met Moroccan Ambassador to Qatar Al-Maki Kwan in Doha yesterday.

Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations and means of bolstering them in addition to other issues of mutual concern.

A number of senior officials at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs attended the meeting.

 

Kenyan president arrives today

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will arrive today in Doha on an official visit to the country that will last  several days.

 

Qatar-Venezuela ties discussed

Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania Xoan Pablo Noya met Qatar’s Ambassador to Venezuela Battal Meajeb al-Dosari in Caracas yesterday.  They discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.

 

Indian embassy Open House

The Indian embassy will hold an Open House on Friday, April 25, to address any urgent consular and labour issues/cases of Indian nationals in Qatar.

Written information on issues/cases proposed to be discussed with embassy officials can be given from 5.30pm to 6pm. This will be followed by a meeting with embassy officials from 6pm to 6.30pm.

 

QOC taking  part in Kuwait meeting

Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) is taking part in the 28th session of the GCC Olympic Committees Chiefs which is being held in Kuwait.

The QOC delegation to the meeting is led by HE QOC Secretary General Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, and includes President of Qatar Swimming Association  Khaleel Ibrahim al-Jabir, President of  Qatar Sailing and Rowing Federation Khalifa Mohamed al-Suwaidi, and Assistant Secretary-General for administrative support Mishal al-Khalifa.

Kuwait will host a series of meetings for ministers and senior officials of youth and sports affairs at the Gulf Co-operation Council.

The Executive Council of the GCC Olympic Committees Chiefs held its 72nd session yesterday. This will be followed by the 31st meeting of undersecretaries of the ministries of youth and sports.

 

Attorney General holds talks with Tunisian interior minister

HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri yesterday met the Tunisian Minister of Interior Lotfi ben Jeddou, who is currently visiting Qatar. During the meeting, they exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern, most importantly the stolen funds. They also discussed ways to strengthen legal co-operation and exchange of expertise between Qatar and Tunisia.

 

Katara launches new website

Katara - the Cultural Village yesterday launched a new website.

Commenting on the launch, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim
