A delegation headed by Qatar’s Minister of Business and Trade HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim al-Thani will head to Geneva on Tuesday to take part in the second Qatar Trade Policies Review at the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Delegations from all the 150 member-countries of the WTO take part in such reviews. The Qatari delegation has representatives of all entities involved in trade policies in the country including the Ministry of Business and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and  the Qatar Central Bank, the Public Customs Department, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority.

The first review for Qatar trade policies at WTO conducted in 2005 won the appreciation of the members of WTO for Qatar’s efforts to improve the environment of its national business and economy.
