A group of artistes from South Korea presented a Korea-Qatar Culture Show yesterday at Qatar National Convention Centre Theatre as part of a series of events celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The programme began with a performance by a group of traditional Qatari artistes, while the Koreans wowed the audience with acrobatics, dance and music. Diplomats and other dignitaries attended the event yesterday. A kite-flying event is being held today at the Museum of Islamic Art Park and tomorrow at Katara Esplanade (opposite the Amphitheatre). The timings are 10am to noon (opening ceremony and kite-flying demonstration), 3pm to 4pm (kite-flying demonstration), and 4.30pm to 5.30pm (kite-making workshop, for a limited number of people). The celebrations are hosted by the South Korean embassy in Qatar and sponsored by Qatar’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, and RasGas. PICTURES: Jayaram
