About 90% of respondents of a survey on the services of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Seha, under National Health Insurance Company (NHIC) have rated very highly the women’s health benefits received under the scheme.

A patient satisfaction survey was carried out among the  members of the NHIS by the Qatar Statistic Authority on behalf of the NHIC. According to the survey, the scheme has received high levels of acceptance and satisfaction among those who have used it.

The first phase of the scheme was introduced in July 2013 for all Qatari women aged 12 and above for gynaecology, obstetrics, maternity and related women’s health issues while the second stage will be launched on April 30.

The survey showed that Qatari women who had received treatment for maternity and women’s health related issues under the scheme since July 2013 were overwhelmingly satisfied with the scheme and its service.

84% of respondents stated that the scheme had met or exceeded their expectations.

An overwhelming majority of 90% of respondents rated very highly of the women’s health benefits received under the scheme, while 84% said the scheme offered them greater freedom of choice when seeking healthcare.

Four-fifths of the respondents (79%) rated the hospital experience under the health insurance scheme very favourably. As many as 90% gave top marks to their interactions with the scheme through the Seha call centre, while 87% gave a similar rating to their interaction with the scheme’s information booths set-up in hospitals.
