Qatar and Albania signed a memorandum of understanding and an agreement following a round of official talks chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and his Albanian counterpart, Edi Rama, at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

The two sides reviewed aspects of co-operation and means of boosting and developing them in all sectors.

The talks were attended by several Qatari ministers and the members of the delegation accompanying the Albanian prime minister. 

Later the HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and the Albanian prime minister witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on health co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Albania, and an agreement between the two governments on regulating the use of Albanian labourers in Qatar.

Later the Prime Minister and Interior Minister hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Albanian premier and his accompanying delegation.

The Albanian prime minister arrived in Doha on Saturday evening on an official visit to Qatar. 

Separately yesterday, the Advisory Council Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi met Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama and his accompanying delegation. 

They discussed parliamentary relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them.

The meeting was attended by HE the Advisory Council’s Secretary-General Fahd bin Mubarak al-Khayareen, 

HE Qatar’s  Ambassador to Albania Yousuf Hassan al-Saai, and the Albanian ambassador accredited to Qatar Ridi Kurtezi attended the meeting.
