ConocoPhillips sponsored a reception and dinner welcoming Qatar’s new ambassador to the US, Mohamed Jaham al-Kuwari, at an event held in Washington, DC recently.

The event organised by the US-Qatar Business Council was attended by many high-profile figures representing the US government, foreign dignitaries and international organisations, all of whom gathered to celebrate al-Kuwari’s assignment as Qatar’s ambassador.

During the event, ambassador al-Kuwari took the stage to talk about Qatar’s progressive growth in many industries and taking a leading role in the oil and gas industry. He also commented on the strong ties between the US and Qatar and the bilateral exchange of knowledge and projects that both countries mutually invest in, hoping for a lasting, prosperous and strong relationship between the two nations.

Gary Sykes, president of ConocoPhillips Qatar, delivered the event’s concluding speech. “For the past 10 years, ConocoPhillips has developed and established strong bilateral relations with the State of Qatar, ones which we are extremely proud of. Through these relationships with prominent individuals, which we have nurtured and built on over time, we demonstrate our commitment to Qatar’s people and its future,” he said.

“I look forward to continuing this legacy and welcome ambassador Mohamed al-Kuwari to his new home in the United States of America.”
