HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari yesterday honoured Arab artists who participated in the first Arab Art Salon for youth.
Held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage in Katara, the Salon conducted a number of workshops that included 20 artists from Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Qatar.
HE al-Kuwari viewed the works accomplished by the artists during the workshops. The works will be displayed at a gallery today. The Minister praised the level of work achieved, saying it reflected the goals of the salon.  
On the Salon itself, the Minister said that it reflects the State’s keenness to support Qatari artists, adding that it was that support which helped the advancement of Qatari art.   
The Minister said he will head to London to participate in London Book Fair, pointing out that he will look to co-ordinate with participants in the event, in preparation for the 25th Doha International Book Fair.
He said the coming edition, the 25th anniversary,  will be unprecedented in many respects. The Minister revealed that it was HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who instructed there should be good preparation for the upcoming edition.
As part of his visit to London, the Minister will meet with secretary of state for culture, media and sport to discuss enhancing bilateral relations in the cultural fields, adding that the UK secretary of state had visited Qatar three times last year, reflecting the strong cultural ties between both countries.
