HH the Emir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani holding talks with Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the Presidential Palace in Algiers yesterday.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika held a round of official talks here yesterday.
The talks were attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir and the President of Algerian Council of Nation Abdelkader Bensalah along with several ministers and senior officials.
The talks reviewed aspects of promoting and enhancing ties between Qatar and Algeria. Issues of mutual concern were also discussed.
Later, the Emir attended a luncheon banquet hosted by the President of the Council of the Nation of Algeria Abdelkader Bensalah in his honour.
A number of Algerian ministers and senior officials attended the banquet, held at Djenane El-Mithaq Residence.
The Emir also held separate meetings with the Acting Algerian Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Mines Youcef Yousfi and Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly al-Arabi Ould Khalifa .
The talks dealt with bilateral relations and matters of mutual concern.
The meetings were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.
Later yesterday evening the Emir left Algiers heading to Tunisia.
He was seen off at Houari Boumediene Airport by President of the Algerian Council of the Nation Abdelkader Bensalah, a number of ministers and senior civilian and military officials as well as Qatar’s ambassador to Algiers Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz al-Sehlawi.
HH the Emir sent a cable to Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika thanking him and expressing appreciation for the hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation during their stay.
The Emir arrived Tunisia yesterday evening.
The Emir and his accompanying delegation were greeted upon arrival at Tunis-Carthage International Airport by Tunisia’s President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki.
Also present at the airport to greet the Emir were a number of Tunisian ministers, Qatar’s Ambassador to Tunisia Abdullah bin Nasser al-Humaidi, Tunisian Ambassador to Qatar Dr Mohamed Mundhir Zarif, senior officials, and a number of Arab heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Tunisia.
The Emir was accorded an official reception ceremony.
Upon arrival, the Emir, in a statement, expressed his pleasure to meet President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki. He said he would exchange views with the president and consult him on all matters of interest to Qatar and Algeria and also discuss issues of concern to the Arab nation.
HH the Emir later attended a dinner banquet hosted by the Tunisian President in his honour and the accompanying delegation at Carthage Palace. The banquet was attended by a number of Tunisian ministers and senior officials.
Emir meets US secretary of state
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met US Secretary of State John Kerry who is currently visiting Algeria.
The meeting took place in his residence at Zeralda in the Algerian capital Algiers. Talks during the meeting dealt with regional and international issues, particularly developments in the Middle East. The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir and a number of senior American officials.

During the meeting, which took place this evening at the Carthage Palace, the two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir. On Tunisian side, the meeting was attended by a number of ministers. After that the Tunisian President presented HH the Emir with the Order of Republic Grand Officer set.
