Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), a member of Qatar Foundation, will hold the fourth Adolescents with Diabetes (Al Tahadi) Camp from April 13 to 17.

The camp’s mission is to educate teenagers (12-15 years old) with type 1 diabetes about the disease and help them understand the importance of controlling their blood sugar levels to lead a normal and productive life.

The camp will be hosted by Barzan Youth Centre, which has offered its facilities to ensure the comfort of the participants and success of the camp. Its programme will include different types of healthy activities: physical, educational as well as entertaining. The camp will also feature various workshops, religious aspects and personality improvement activities.

The activities will be managed and supervised by a specialised team of trainers, health educators and dieticians.

For the first time, this year’s camp will include participants from the GCC countries and there are plans to take the camp to higher levels by hosting participants from the region as well as from around the world.

The camp has been described as one of the most important events in the area of diabetes awareness. The QDA works with other authorities and institutions, such as the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Ali Bin Ali Group, Municipal Police Force, Tomoh for Voluntary Work Management and Qatar Foundation Recreation Center, to make it a success.
