Vodafone Qatar has announced the opening of its new retail kiosk at the arrivals terminal of Doha International Airport (DIA).

The step underpins Vodafone’s strategic emphasis on strongly expanding its presence in the country to ensure that every new and existing customer is provided with convenient access to its portfolio of products and services, especially upon their arrival in Doha and looking for a telecom operator of choice, the company has said in a statement.

The kiosk will offer SIM cards and recharge cards in addition to the entire line-up of Vodafone’s prepaid and postpaid products. Vodafone’s team will also be ready to introduce customers to the company’s latest additions such as Red, Vodafone’s innovative postpaid product, together with the company’s offers and promotions such as the discounts on Mobile Broadband packs stretching until April.

In addition, those newly arriving to Qatar will get the chance to call their loved ones back home upon arrival anywhere in the world. Customers will also be able to update their social media and check their emails for free at the kiosk. Those needing to charge their smartphones will be able to use a value-added service provided at the kiosk.

Mohamed al-Yami, director of External Affairs at Vodafone Qatar, said: “DIA is a key retail location and it is very essential, therefore, to bring much-needed choice to those newly arriving in Qatar and seeking to get confidently connected with worry-free experiences through reliable and trusted networks, which are actively used by more than 1,000,000 customers on a daily basis.”

Abdulaziz al-Mass, senior public relations and communications manager at DIA, said: “Doha International Airport is an important regional and international aviation hub, and we successfully increased our year-on-year passenger traffic by 10% in 2013. We always strive to provide our passengers with a unique and enjoyable travel experience. Many of our passengers are technology- and social media-savvy, which is why we believe that the Vodafone kiosk will offer them many convenient communications services.”
