Elizabeth Thomas (57),  an Indian expatriate housewife, died in Dukhan on Monday after a brief illness.

She leaves behind her husband Thomas John Moothedathu and sons, Jikku John Thomas (Mannai Corporation) and Jeffrey Jacob Thomas.

Thomas and family, who hail from Eraviperoor in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, have been in the country for about 30 years, sources said. Members of the Emmanuel Mar Thoma  Church have mourned the death of Elizabeth (Lyla). Prayers for Lyla are scheduled to be held at the Hamad Hospital morgue at 5.30pm today .

Meanwhile, the body of Roy Mathew (42), who died on Monday was flown to Kerala last night. He will be buried at his native Vellayamkudy in Kerala’s Idukki district today. A large gathering was present at the mortuary yesterday to pay homage to Mathew, who was working with Qatar Fuels Additives. Expatriate forum Idukki district Expatriates Association (Idea Qatar), of which Mathew was among the founders, has mourned his death.

The mortal remains of  Babu Manshad (44), who was the HR manager of Al Mouyad Air Conditioning will  be sent home this evening.

Manshad was a native of Karunagapally in Kerala’s Kollam district. He died at Hamad hospital on Monday.   

The body of  Qatar Tamizhar Sangham (QTS) former president A D K B Charles (68), will  be flown to his native place in India’s Thoothukudi district tomorrow (Thursday).

Efforts are also on to repatriate the body of Ouseph Varghese (54), an Indian expatriate who also died in Doha on
Monday.
