The results of the Halal Hal Qatar Festival competition for the most beautiful Syrian ram and the most productive Syrian sheep have been declared.
The top prize in the most beautiful Syrian ram category was bagged by Sheikh Saoud bin Faleh al-Thani (QR100,000), followed by Mohamed Sayf al-Nuaimi (QR50,000) and Ahmed Mubarak al-Mannai (QR 30,000). The fourth prize (QR20,000) went to Abdullah Rashid al-Kubaisi and the fifth (QR10,000) to Jarralah Mohamed al-Nabiti.
In most productive Syrian sheep category, Abdullah Rashid al-Kubaisi won the first prize (QR100,000), while Ahmed al-Mannai bagged the second (QR50,000) and Ahmed Omair al-Nuaimi the third (QR30,000). The fourth prize (QR20,000) was won by Mohamed Abdullah al-Kubaisi and the fifth (QR10,000) by Nasser Hassan al-Kubaisi. All the winners are from Qatar.
The third edition of the festival, held at Katara – the Cultural Village, saw a considerable turnout of visitors from different backgrounds and nationalities. Further, HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari visited the festival and toured its various sections. HE Dr al-Kuwari stressed the importance of the festival in preserving and reviving the Qatari heritage.
A Moroccan delegation headed by the country’s ambassador to Doha also visited the festival, in addition to the Iranian envoy.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager of Katara, expressed happiness at the festival’s success.
