HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met a number of Arab leaders and heads of delegations to the 25th Arab summit, currently under way in Kuwait under the theme of “Solidarity for a Better Future.”

On the sidelines of the summit, HH the Emir met Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, and Comorian President Ikililou Dhoinine.

The meetings dealt with bilateral relations and issues on the summit’s agenda.

The Emir also met Ahmad al-Jarba, the head of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, on the sidelines of the Arab League council’s summit meeting.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments on the Syrian front and efforts to end the suffering of the Syrian people.

The Emir also met Lakhdar Brahimi, the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria.

Talks dealt with solutions set for resolving the Syrian crisis and to safeguard the Syrian territorial integrity.

The Emir paid a visit to the Kuwait National Guard Chief and the Dean of the Ruling Family Sheikh Salem al-Ali al-Sabah at his Majlis, yesterday.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with relations between Qatar and Kuwait and the prospects for further bolstering them. 

Later the Emir attended a luncheon banquet hosted by the emir of Kuwait.
