Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, is attending the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2014), which opens today.

At the three-day event, the company will showcase its state-of-the-art AESA radars for surveillance and defence as well as other key technologies relevant to requirements in the Gulf region.

Selex ES has a significant presence in Middle Eastern maritime programmes, providing complete integrated combat systems, the company has said in a statement.

At Dimdex, Selex ES will focus on its advanced Kronos AESA radar products, now the most powerful multifunctional radars on the market for land and naval applications. The Kronos Land and Kronos Grand will be highlighted, showing how Selex ES has managed to combine the range performance and endurance of a surveillance radar with the precision, speed and reliability of a fire control radar.

The company will also exhibit its Seaspray family of AESA radars, which are being used worldwide for airborne surveillance. Besides, Selex ES will exhibit the RAT31 DL/M, an advanced 3D surveillance radar that meets modern long-range radar requirements and can support air forces and army deployments during peacekeeping missions.

Ready for export to the Gulf region, the Miysis Directed InfraRed CounterMeasure system will also be on show at the Selex ES stand. The system protects aircraft and their occupants by accurately locating, tracking and defeating inbound threats.

Another area that Selex ES will promote is its security solutions, including protection for the region’s nationally important oil and gas industries. Also, Selex ES can provide solutions for the region’s national border protection requirements and bring its expertise in cyber security across a range of market sectors, including defence, banking and finance, energy and gas production.

“Qatar is a strategic market for Selex ES,” said Luca Gennaretti, Selex ES’s country manager for Qatar.
